SSH Receives RSA Security Certification for Secure Shell Software
SSH has long been recognized as a security innovator with its SSH Secure Shell application for protecting and authenticating user information and data over the Internet and insecure networks," said Robert Pritchard, vice president of worldwide developer sales, corporate and partner development at RSA Security."We are pleased to welcome SSH to our RSA Secured family. This alliance ensures that our products work together to help customers deploy secure, mission-critical applications and data in order to safely conduct electronic commerce."
SSH Secure Shell is a client-server encryption software solution designed to protect businesses from the most common break-in method used by hackers - eavesdropping passwords from the Internet. SSH Secure Shell creates a secure environment by encrypting user identities and passwords as well as data content before sending it across the Internet. RSA Keon digital certificate management products are designed to address many of todays security needs - from a certificate server that developers can build into their applications, to an enterprise PKI that supplies digital certificates for Web commerce applications, to a complete turnkey network and application security system that offers PKI (Public Key Infrastructure)-based authentication for existing client-server applications. The interoperability between SSH and RSA Security products helps offer companies advanced, comprehensive security solutions with the performance and flexibility they demand for secure network communications.
According to George Adams, president and CEO of SSH Communications Security, Inc., "As companies continue to enhance their security infrastructure, they increasingly need best-of-breed vendor solutions that are tested for interoperability and provide the high performance and quality that businesses demand. We look forward to teaming with RSA Security to promote interoperability between our respective security technologies and products."
Todays announcement extends the relationship between SSH and RSA Security. In September 2000, the companies announced a strategic relationship under which RSA Security licensed SSHs IPSEC Express™ Toolkit for IPSec (Internet Protocol Security), IKE (Internet Key Exchange), and X.509 certificates to expand and enhance its Internet security products.
