How PrivX Elevates Cybersecurity with Artificial Intelligence

Our involvement in the AIQUSEC project has led to significant progress in Artificial Intelligence (AI), including use of innovations such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). While these breakthroughs are impressive, our main focus in this initiative has been to enhance PrivX, our privileged access management tool, with innovative AI capabilities.

Over the past two years, we’ve successfully integrated User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) into PrivX, enabling it to detect abnormal behaviors in real-time. This AI-driven feature allows organizations to identify potential security threats more quickly and accurately, making PrivX a powerful line of defense.

PrivX has always been at the core of our security offerings, providing advanced access management to protect critical assets in digital environments. But with the rise of sophisticated cyberattacks, traditional methods are no longer sufficient. This is where AI steps in.

By leveraging UEBA, PrivX can now continuously monitor user behavior, spotting any irregularities that may signal credential misuse or security breaches. This proactive approach ensures that threats are flagged before they escalate, significantly reducing the risk of successful attacks.

As part of our work within the AIQUSEC project, we’ve also researched  functionality  that tracks the actions of system administrators. When potentially harmful commands are detected, the system instantly alerts security teams, allowing for rapid, proactive intervention. This functionality would be an additional  layer of protection in preventing insider threats and unauthorized access.

Jussi Löppönen, Solution Architect AI & Cloud at SSH, highlights how AI is shaping the future of cybersecurity: “There are enormous opportunities with AI,” he says. “With technologies like RAG and UEBA, we can offer AI-driven solutions that make a real difference in cybersecurity.”

As we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible, our mission is to further integrate AI into PrivX and other solutions, making sure they stay ahead of malicious intents. The future of AI at SSH is promising, and we’re committed to leading the charge in revolutionizing how organizations secure their most critical assets.

At SSH, we see AI as a transformative force, and our work within the AIQUSEC project is just the beginning. We’re opening up new avenues of innovation, making sure our customers and the broader industry benefit from these developments. The future is bright, and we’re excited to continue shaping it.
