SSH Communications Security Announces Initial Installations for SalaX Secure Messaging, Joins Matrix Foundation
Helsinki, Finland 28th of April, 2025. SSH Communications Security (SSH) announces new projects for their SalaX Secure Messaging solution that provides end-to-end encrypted, verified and audited chats, video conferences, calls and rooms. The initial installations include a public authority network and a critical public service agency in the Nordics - and a healthcare service provider in Central Europe.
SalaX Secure Messaging is built on Matrix technology, the decentralised open standard for secure and sovereign real time communication. As SSH is committed to securing sensitive communications, the company is proud to join the Matrix Foundation as a Silver Member.
“Please join me in welcoming the newest Silver Member of the Matrix.org: SSH Communications Security! We’re grateful to SSH for stepping up to support the Foundations mission and stewardship of the Matrix protocol,” states Robin Riley from Matrix.
As an enterprise-grade solution, SalaX Secure Messaging allows organizations to align communications with their security, corporate and data classification policies. The solution enables customers to govern their own environments, users and encryption keys with strict controls, providing auditing and hosting options not available in consumer-grade tools like Signal, WhatsApp, or Zoom.
There have been multiple recent violations of policies in organizations, because users have failed to understand data classification requirements and have shared secret or confidential data in open commercial systems.
SalaX can also federate with other Matrix-based messaging tools for end-to-end encrypted conversations.
Recently, SalaX Secure Messaging has introduced new functionalities, such as:
- SaaS service from a secure European cloud
- Enhanced encryption key management experience
- An audit bot for record-keeping, governed by the respective service providers
“Critical data is being shared in all types of collaboration tools that are convenient but ungoverned and not authorized for secret/confidential and sensitive data & communications. All organizations under the new and expanded scope of NIS2 legislation require a solution like this, in addition to industries that have been heavily regulated for years”, states Rami Raulas, CEO of SSH. “Record keeping, data sovereignty requirements and strong identity verification are all features that make SalaX Secure Messaging a great choice for security-aware organizations,“ Raulas concludes.
